This patient is a hairdresser and soon to be a nurse who saw me at my Longview, Washington and Vancouver, Washington plastic surgery office for a breast augmentation surgery.  She was a personal referral from a prominent Longview, WA and Portland orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Bill Turner.  Her main concern was to achieve breast enhancement that was natural and fitting of her body.  During the breast augmentation consultation, we discussed in extensive detail the importance of choosing the right implant to achieve the patient's goal.  Furthermore, it was also discussed that preoperative asymmetry that is present will be demonstrated postoperatively as implants do very little to alter or correct preexisting shape differences.  This is an important concept that all patients who are entertaining breast enhancement surgery must understand, as very few women have identical two breasts.  As one of my patients astutely reflected, "they are close looking sisters - but not identical twins."  How so true! 

This patient underwent an uneventful breast augmentation surgery at our fully Medicare accredited Pacific Surgery Center conveniently located in the same building - Pacific Surgical Institute of Longview, Washington.  She chose to have saline breast implants via the inframammary incision placed submuscularly.  The breast enhancement surgery took approximately 40 minutes.  The patient did extremely well postoperatively and is seen here at approximately 3 months postoperatively.  She is extremely pleased with the entire experience and with her outcome, as true of virtually all of patients undergoing breast augmentation surgery.  I encourage all of my patients undergoing breast enhancement surgery to periodically message their breasts postoperatively.
