This woman desired natural augmentation of her breasts. She is 31 years old and has a teenage son. She is very conservative and extremely concerned about not wanting an unnatural result. She has consulted with three other plastic surgeons prior to seeing us at our Federal Way office. She felt most comfortable with our practice and felt that we would deliver the outcome that she desired. As part of the consultation, we discussed various components of breast augmentation surgery, including saline vs. silicone gel breast implants, incision options, placement of the implants, and most importantly the size. She underwent an uneventful breast augmentation surgery. She chose smooth saline implants, filled to 335 on Right and 320 on Left, placed via peri-areolar incision in a submuscular pocket. Her results shown are two months post-operatively after surgery. She was extremely pleased with her result and felt that the outcome was exactly what she had desired – a natural looking enhancement. Her scar is expected to continue to improve over time. It should also be noted that we had discussed the possibility of correcting the inverted nipple on left, but as sometimes is the case, a partial correction was achieved with augmentation surgery – enough for her to not pursue this additional procedure. Her post-operative course was much better than expected. She experienced very little discomfort requiring only several days of pain medication and resumed normal work and motherly activities within a week. Her course however was quicker than most patients. Most patients require pain medication for about a week and resume normal activities in one to two weeks.
