This woman desired an augmentation of her breasts with saline breast implants. As a personal fitness trainer, she leads a very active lifestyle. She was very concerned about the breasts looking very "big" and wanted a "natural look." She was pleased with the shape of her breasts and completely understood that minor differences between her right and left breasts will still be present after breast augmentation surgery. She understood that implants for most part enhance the size of the breasts, but do not significantly alter the shape of the breasts. She greatly appreciated this fact, for she, like many others, was under the false impression that breast implants can significantly alter the shape of the breasts. She learned through a thorough consultation that breast shape can only be significantly altered via breast reshaping procedures (e.g. breast lift procedures.) She wore a B cup bra and desired to be a C cup afterwards. She also understood that "cup" sizes vary depending on the manufacturer of the bra, and that breast implants come in fluid volumes (cc). She also learned that breast implants are only one of the factors contributing to the overall size, but other factors, including the amount of breast tissue present, height and weight of the patient, chest width, bony anatomy, among others, all contribute to the final size outcome. A very same implant placed in different women can have dramatically different outcomes. She was very pleased with the outcome. She felt that her breasts looked and felt very natural. The after photos were taken approximately six weeks after surgery.
