This nurse saw me for a consultation regarding improvement in her abdominal contour. She had a previous tummy tuck surgery by another plastic surgeon some time ago, and although generally pleased with the outcome, felt that her contour was less than ideal. Upon examination, it was seen that there was asymmetry in tummy scar placement which led to increased bulging of the left flank region. This patient demonstrated the importance of proper scar placement and planning the abdominal contour surgery with a 3-Dimensional vision. For this patient, I revised the abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) scar on left by lowering it to match the contra-lateral side with lipo-contouring of the left flank region to create more of a pleasing waist-line. She was very pleased with the outcome as she now had the figure that she desired. The after photo was taken approximately six weeks after her surgery. This case demonstrates the importance of treating the abdominal region in a 3-Dimensional fashion. Incorporating liposuction (lipo-sculpturing) with abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) allows for a much improved body contouring that creates a more appealing feminine profile.
