Before & After Photos

This English professor desired facial rejuvenation. Her overall goal was to look well rested. But most importantly, she wanted to look "natural." Unfortunately, she had seen too many "after" photos in which the outcomes looked "pulled too hard" or "wind-blown." As I informed her, the goal of any facial rejuvenation surgery is to look well rested and youthful, never to look "operated on." She was in complete agreement. In order to accomplish this, each patient is evaluated separately and their treatment plan tailored to meet their specific goals and anatomic variations. This involves proper scar placement, amount of skin resection, the vector of lift, amount of SMAS (underlying facial support tissue) manipulation, and degree of lipo-contouring required. For this patient, she had lost a significant amount of weight which contributed to her "aged" look and apparent skin excess. She was at her ideal body weight and had no medical problems. She had interviewed many other plastic surgeons but felt most comfortable with our office. She underwent an uneventful face lift surgery with lower blepharoplasty (eye lid surgery). Although not shown, she also underwent an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) surgery as well. She did remarkably well post-operatively and resumed most activities in less than 3 weeks. Her "after" photos were taken approximately at six weeks. She was very pleased with her outcome, and felt that the result was very natural looking and made her look more youthful. When she returned to her classroom, her students noticed that she looked better –but could not exactly pin-point what was different about her. She was thrilled with the outcome. She eventually had a completion lower body lift which she did very well from to complete her weight loss transformation. She retired from teaching, and is traveling with her husband is traveling in their RV.
